The winner of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) Blues performer of the year competition, Dan proves on this debut album recording, that it wasn’t luck but talent that got him the prize which will see him compete at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January.

Operating in the well-trodden paths of Leadbelly, Skip James, Muddy Waters etc, Dan is able to bring his own voice to this selection of originals and interpretations. Backed by a combination of full band, duo and solo performances, he demonstrates his respect, and his mastery of the Blues music genre.

Fingerpickin’ guitar, wailing harmonica and piercing slide are the tools that Dan employs to accompany his distinctive and emotive vocals. This debut is the beginning of a talent that is now realized.
